Cereal

I love cereal... so with summer coming on I picked two from my FODMAP book that were supposed to be well tolerated. I had it for breakfast and sometimes for an after dinner snack. My system hasn't been to good lately, mostly in the afternoons, and at first I blamed the ranch dressing I put on my salad. When it didnt get better I thought it may have been the strepsils throat lozengers I was using (FYI eat before you have these if you have a sensitive stomach... does not feel good, not terrible but not good). But after a day of abstaining I wasnt any better. That night I had some cereal. The next morning I awoke with the same symptoms I had been experiencing every afternoon that week.... it all clicked.... the cereal!

The week before I had realised I had a small problem with high density bread and have cut back from 2 slices of spelt bread to 1 for lunch.

It appears that my fragile system is struggling with high density carbohydrates... so its back to porridge for me. I had it this morning, the small amount of milk we had I saved for my coffee, so plain porridge with water was my breakfast. I feel good for the first time in days : )

The cereal I was using was Freedom Foods corn flakes and Food for healths fruit free clusters with Chia.
